Missionary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints commissions men and women to teach its doctrines to interested parties within missions. These men and women are ordained ministers of the church and the men are authorized priesthood holders in the office of Elder within what is called the Melchizedek priesthood.

Female missionaries are called Sister missionaries and hold no office in the Melchizedek priesthood.
